“Great result. This does not happen.” BumbleBee owed our client millions of dollars, and then BumbleBee filed for bankruptcy. After another lawyer told our client it would never get its money through the bankruptcy process, we filed a temporary restraining order that stalled a $930 million sale, approved by the bankruptcy court, of all assets of BumbleBee and its parent company. We resolved the litigation, and our client received a very favorable settlement hours before the $930 million transaction closed. Most other creditors were never paid, losing over $100 million through the bankruptcy process.
Our client, a $10 billion food manufacturer, was getting strangled with litigation. Within a year we resolved 45 major pieces of litigation, while simultaneously reducing our client’s spend on outside counsel by more than 80%.
