Mr. Barlow advises businesses on corporate governance, financing and deal making, transactions, and litigation. He also advises individuals regarding wealth management and wealth preservation, including basic and complex estate planning.

Mr. Barlow has specialized experience in US gaming markets, especially related to Class II games, historical horse racing, and skill games. He is a General Member of the International Masters of Gaming Law.

He is also active in the startup and venture capital world as an advisor and investor. While practicing as a lawyer he has started and managed several successful businesses and invests in startups as an active member of the Charlottesville Angel Network.

Mr. Barlow started his career in the tax group of a Big Four accounting firm where he assisted major corporations, partnerships, private equity firms, venture capital firms, hedge funds, trusts and individuals with various tax matters. He also worked for a boutique tax and estate planning firm advising individuals and businesses related to their wealth.

His diverse experience includes dispute resolution at various levels, including representing clients in trials, mediations, and arbitrations. He has guided clients through employment disputes, insurance disputes, land disputes, tax disputes with the IRS, and asbestos litigation.

Similarly diverse, his transactional practice includes advising clients on corporate financing, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, real estate development, conservation easements, and other similar transactions.

Mr. Barlow is a member of the Virginia Bar, the California Bar, and the D.C. Bar. He has been admitted pro hac vice in various states across the US. He is proficient in Spanish.
